Charitable work by Carlton Bingo

Charity and bingo have gone hand in hand almost since the game was devised. Bingo was popularised at numerous church fundraisers, and is still one of the most effective ways to raise funds in many parishes.

Carlton Bingo is happy to continue the charitable tradition of bingo, although perhaps on a larger scale than the average church fundraiser. In fact, since 2002, we have donated over £167,000 to some of the most deserving charities around.

Our donations include:

  • £18,000 to Breakthrough Breast Cancer in 2008.
  • £18,000 to Breast Cancer Awareness in 2007.
  • £22,000 to Breakthrough Breast Cancer in 2006.
  • £23,000 to Breakthrough Breast Cancer in 2005.
  • £35,000 to Maggie's Centre in 2004.
  • £20,000 to Maggie's Centre in 2003.
  • £30,000 to Macmillan Cancer Relief in 2002.

We will continue to raise money for worthy causes, thanks to the unrivalled generosity of our customers and staff.

Raising money

The charities we choose are picked because they are particularly close to our hearts. Many of our staff and customers will be affected by breast cancer, which is one the most common cancers among women.

Whether people have been through the disease themselves, or witnessed the suffering of a loved one, cancer affects almost everyone.

By raising vital funds for worthy causes, we can - in our own small way - help to bring comfort to cancer patients, as well as their friends and family.

Together, we can help in the battle against cancer, supporting the valuable work of scientist searching for a cure.
